Gift Guide: Stocking Stuffers Under $50 for Her & Him

Gift Guide: Stocking Stuffers Under $50 for Her & Him

Christmas Themed Mug | All holiday decor in this post! I have to admit that as a child I was never overly excited about my stocking. Instead my focus was always on the biggest present underneath the tree! But as I grew up, my parents started to place my favorite gifts in my stocking instead such as gift cards, cash and beauty products that I always need on hand. In that, I learned that sometimes the best gifts come disguised in small packages {or in this case, my stocking}! Since this week marks exactly one month until Christmas Day, below you will find my stocking stuffer selections for both her and him under $50. For her, I pulled the cutest gingham print pajamas, a cheeky mug, the best champagne dish, a fun tassel keychain, and two beauty products for good measure because every girl loves a good mask and you can never have too many options when it comes to nail polish. For him, I kept with the same idea in that I included a comfortable pair of joggers, printed socks (Mack loves this brand!), a money clip, mini iPhone projector, men’s SPF 15 moisturizer and hand salve. If your husband, boyfriend or […]

Navy Blue Moto Jacket

Navy Blue Moto Jacket

Navy Moto Jacket | Blush Dress | Leopard Booties | Crossbody (similar) | Sunglasses The week before a holiday is always crazy- this week I especially felt that! I am reminding myself to refer to this post as the holiday season enters full swing in a few days. I have the weekend on my brain and Mack got home early from a trip last night so we are ready for a few days to relax! We’ve lived in Florida for two years this month and I’ve pretty much donated or sold all of my heavy coats as there truly is no need for them here. Instead, I live off of transitional jackets that can be easily layered or mixed and matched. Even in the warmer months, I alway have a jacket in my tote bag (the A/C in Florida is always an issue for me in the summer) but as the temperatures get cooler I gravitate toward heavier materials to combat the chill in the air. I’ve noticed deep hues, like this navy blue, making their way into home interiors through statement chairs that introduce a nice pop of color into the space. I feel like this jacket will be […]

Holiday Party Attire with Azazie

Holiday Party Attire with Azazie

Azazie Rebecca Dress | Leopard Booties | Clutch | Black Coat (vintage, similar) A highlight of the holiday season often is the never ending gatherings that take place from November through the New Year. After Thanksgiving Day, the parties just keep coming it seems. From themed parties and Secret Santas to more formal gatherings of family or even colleagues, navigating what to wear for each occasion can be a guessing game. With that in mind, I teamed up with Azazie to bring you three tips to select your holiday party attire: Read the room (metaphorically speaking): Are you attending a family holiday party or a work function? Reading the room, before actually arriving at the event, is the number one way to determine what to wear. It’s also important to note the location as that can often hint at the vibe the event will offer. Is it in a swanky hotel ballroom? If so, the Rebecca dress would be perfect. If it’s less formal- perhaps at the office or even someone’s home- I would lean more toward the Ayana in Dusty Sage. When appropriate, don’t be afraid to add a little flair of your own as well (hello leopard booties)! Consider the […]

Christmas Decor at Home

Christmas Decor at Home

Christmas Tree | Angel Tree Topper | String Lights | Ornaments (similar) | “G” Ornament | Ribbon (here, here and here) | Gift Boxes | Tree Skirt I decided to put our Christmas tree up last weekend and I am glad I did as it brings so much cheer to our living room! Since we are spending Thanksgiving in Dallas and Christmas in Denver that didn’t leave much time to enjoy the holiday season in our home. Therefore, I did a Target run and while the employees were setting up all of the holiday decor, I weaved my cart through the aisles for the essentials. I got off work a few hours early and was able to transform our home and ready it for the Christmas season in a matter of hours. I was trying to surprise Mack but accidentally ratted myself out on my own insta-story (insert eye roll here)! Growing up and still to this day, our family tree is filled with color lights, gold tinsel and ornaments that mark life moments, hobbies and more! It’s so crazy because each year that I see those ornaments I can remember placing them on the tree throughout my childhood. I am excited to start […]

What to Wear on Thanksgiving Day

What to Wear on Thanksgiving

Grey Tunic Sweater | Black Skinny Jeans | OTK Boots (similar) | Leopard Clutch | Sunglasses (similar) I am experiencing mixed emotions about the time change. On the one end, winter is coming and on the other I think it’s midnight and I look at the clock and it’s 5:45 pm (#confused). A few things are clear however: shorter days, cooler temperatures and cozy clothing is IN! Give me all the comfortable clothing (& food) just in time for Thanksgiving. Last year we had Mack’s parents in town for Thanksgiving and it was great! We cooked a big, traditional dinner at home and it was perfect. Mack and I were so happy to host our first big holiday in our home. Now one year later, we are headed to Dallas to visit my sister-in-law and her husband for a few days! No matter where we celebrate- food, football and our puppies are always in the picture. Just how we like it! With food and family as the focus of the day it can be tricky to determine what to wear as everyone’s family traditions can be different. I am accustomed to casual days spent circulating the house from the kitchen to the dining […]

How To Avoid Burnout

How To Avoid Burnout

White Sweater (similar) | Black Jeans | Bumble & Bustle Mug We are on the cusp of 2017 wrapping up- can you believe it? I certainly can’t! And although I am so happy that the holiday season is here, with the happiest time also comes the busiest time of the year. From tying up loose ends in business, blogging, budgeting and more, my already long to do list seems endless. I think we can all agree we’d love to keep the momentum of 2017 rolling right on into 2018. But if I am honest with myself, I am also so tired. Does anyone else feel this way? Last year, I found myself unprepared as the New Year made its arrival and this year, I’ve devised a plan to remove stress and revel in holiday shopping, traveling to see family and celebrating with my loved ones (because that’s truly what it’s all about!). Recharging during busy times is always a challenge for me but essential as life is busy! This year, I am being mindful of the potential of burnout and taking proactive measures to ensure I am ready for 2018. Here’s how I plan to tackle it all: Stay focused: Mack […]

Embroidered Dress + Camel OTK Boots

Embrodied Dress + Camel OTK Boots

Embroidered Dress | OTK Boots | Sunglasses (similar) | Crossbody Bag Can you believe it’s November? I really can’t! I thought what better way to kick off this month than with a festive embroidered dress and OTK boots because well, ’tis the season. Boot season that is! I have a pair of black, flat, OTK riding boots and more pairs of booties than I can count but my closet was missing one thing as family gatherings are about to take center stage… the perfect camel OTK boots. I picked up these boots {under $50} from Blush Destin and they’re perfect. From Friendsgiving to cooking turkey with Mom, these boots will take you there. Paired simply with a dress and tights or skinny jeans and an oversized sweater, these will be a definite part of my November uniform. This month we have a lot on our plates (literally) but I am so excited that the holiday season is almost here! Be sure to stay tuned for tons of fun content like what to wear on Thanksgiving Day, our kitchen reveal, holiday gift content for all your loved ones and so much more. I don’t think I say it enough but I have […]

Oxford, MS Travel Guide

Oxford, MS Travel Guide

As most of you already know, Mack and I went back to Oxford, Mississippi a few weeks ago for the Ole Miss vs. LSU football game. We had the best time ever and I expressed to Mack how easy it is to take advantage of a place you love so much. I didn’t even realize how much I missed Oxford until I went back! It’s a hidden gem in the state of Mississippi that I never would have found if it weren’t for my Dad who loves SEC football. That’s the first thing people ask me when I say I went to Ole Miss… “how did you get to Ole Miss from Denver?” My answer is always the same, “when you have a Dad with an affinity for college sports, towns and traditions, you find yourself in Oxford.” Since it’s so near and dear to my heart I wanted to compile a list of where to stay, eat and play while visiting this Mississippi town. Let me preface this by saying that home games on any football weekend pose a number of challenges when visiting since it is so small- hotels literally book a year in advance for every home game. […]

Tweed Dress for Fall

Tweed Dress

Tweed Dress | Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 | Heels (similar) | Sunglasses (similar) The weekend is here and I am ready to wind down. We had the BEST weekend in Oxford for the Ole Miss vs. LSU football game but I’ve played catch up all week… on laundry, sleep, and life really! Our weekend away was such a fun change of pace but the Monday blues hit hard immediately following. With that in mind, I apologize for my absence so far this week! Luckily, I got my act together and this tweed dress that’s perfect for fall was worth it. Mack and I really enjoy road trips. We’ve driven essentially cross-country twice over the course of two separate moves. Road trips are familiar to us and honestly our preferred way of travel (except for the fact that Tiger gets motion sick). On our drive to Oxford we drove through the small Alabama town of Andalusia and out of the corner of my eye I noticed a chic boutique tucked off the road. That boutique was Lena Ellen, which recently opened a location in Destin. Not one week earlier, I popped in for the second time since it’s opening and found this tweed dress that […]

Grove Style & Clear Bag Policy

Grove Style & Clear Bag Policy

Red Dress | Clear Crossbody | Leopard Booties | Sunglasses (similar) You know how people say that the environment you place yourself in and the people you surround yourself with with ultimately shape you? Well that’s exactly what happened to me when I willingly dropped myself in the middle of the South from Denver not knowing one single person to attend the University of Mississippi. At first, the transition was hard as the culture, weather and general way of doing things was different to me. However, I look back at my time at Ole Miss, the friends it gave me and the growth that took place there and I am just so thankful. In many ways, I think Ole Miss gave me a vision of the person I wanted to become. Perhaps everyone feels this affinity toward their alma mater, but I sure feel lucky. Sentiments aside, Mack and I are heading back to Ole Miss this weekend as our teams {and very alive family rivalry} come to life in the form the Rebs vs. the LSU Tigers! Mack is from Baton Rouge and we started dating after he spent a weekend in The Grove my junior year and the rest is […]
