What’s in my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Cart

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Shopping Cart

Chambray Shirt | Necklace | Black Jacket | Calf-Hair Flats | Mac Lip Kit | Jeans | Faux Leather Leggings | T-shirt | Tennis Shoes If I am being totally honest, I’ve had zero time to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Last night I was finally able to scroll through the pages and browse through endless options. Although I wish I could’ve added about 100 items to my cart, I narrowed it down. Here are the must-have items (of the moment) for me! When shopping sales like this one, I like to keep it simple. Rather than go crazy by purchasing those super fun items (think bold patterns and bright colors), instead I focus on neutrals that can be worn time and time again. I am also very selective in the category of items that I purchase by spreading the love between pants, tops, shoes and accessories. I hone in on what I wear most and build my picks based on need and versatility! And of course I couldn’t pass up a lip kit or cheeky tee. Mack and I took at 90 minute yoga class yesterday (yup! I was dying!) and when I saw this “shavasana” t-shirt, I knew it was meant to be! […]

What To Do in Newport, RI

What To Do in Newport, RI

I promise after this post I will stop talking about my cousin’s wedding and Newport, RI! But since we were there, I wanted to let you all in on some fun things to do and see while visiting. Although we were so busy with wedding festivities, we managed to sneak in some sightseeing on our weekend visit. Here’s what we did while visiting Newport, RI and you should too: Stay at a Bed & Breakfast: Until we visited Newport, we never stayed at a Bed & Breakfast before but will surely do it again. My entire family rented the Blue Jewel Guest House for the weekend (which is an Inn that’s a part of Three Sister Inns all located close to one another). My favorite parts of the Inn included the fact that it was so homey, boasted an adorable porch to enjoy coffee on and fresh baked goods that surprised us each evening. To top it off, they even left a guest book by the front door for guests to sign and it was really interesting to read former guest comments and see how far people traveled! Visit The Breakers/Do the Cliff Walk: There are some of the most beautiful mansions I’ve ever seen […]

Baby Blue Tiered Dress

Baby Blue Tiered Dress

Baby Blue Tiered Dress | Rock Stud Heels | Crossbody | Sunglasses This week literally flew by! I was swamped and felt like I played catch up the entire time but I’m back on track and ready for the weekend. Can I get an amen? I was catching up all week as we spent this past weekend at my cousin’s wedding in Newport, Rhode Island. I’d never visited before and loved the temporary change of scenery. Mack and I managed to sneak in a little bit of work as we played and we’re greeted with hydrangea bushes and classic homes on every corner. It was a really fun weekend and a refreshing break from our very demanding schedules. In an attempt to hold onto that feeling I’ve compiled a short list of places I’d like to visit in the coming year. Here they are: Asheville, NC– Mack and I lived in North Carolina for a short period of time and we loved it. We didn’t ever make it to Asheville however so I want to stay at the Biltmore and spoil ourselves for a weekend. (Also, the downtown area looked really fun from what I saw on Southern Charm!) Savannah, […]

Work Emergency Kit

Work Emergency Kit

Cosmetic Pouch (similar), smaller version here Hello everyone! I am back and still feeling the Monday blues after this weekend (and I fully realize it’s Wednesday). Our weekend in Newport, Rhode Island was so much fun! There’s just something about all of your family and friends being in the same room that feels SO good! My cousin’s wedding was amazing and beautiful and she was radiant all weekend! With that being said, I am still so sad that the weekend had to come to an end. Needless to say, getting back on track this week after a sleep-deprived but worth every second weekend, has been a challenge! For those of you just tuning into my blog, I don’t do it full time. When not blogging, going to yoga or walking my dogs, I work full time for a locally owned public relations firm. I learn something everyday and enjoy working with a highly motivated team that seriously know how to get stuff done. But one thing I caught onto quickly is that we’re always moving. To and from meetings, luncheons, events… you name it, we have a number of engagements weekly. It didn’t take long for me to start stocking my desk with […]

Marigold Pleated Dress

Marigold Pleated Dress

Marigold Pleated Dress | Leopard Heels (similar) | Tweed Clutch (similar) | Sunglasses This week has been jam-packed and it’s only Wednesday! With that being said, I again find myself penning or rather typing this post at 9 pm on Tuesday evening. Such is life so let’s keep it short and sweet shall we? This dress features adorable pleats, cold shoulder detailing and a vibrant hue that works from summer to fall. Living on the Emerald Coast, it’s totally okay to wear a summer dress come early-October because it’s still warm outside. I caught a breeze during these photos and the pleats accentuate the natural movement of this dress- I love that it’s so flowy! This weekend, although not quite here, is an exciting time for my family! My cousin is getting married and I am so excited- and will probably cry all weekend haha (we’ve grown up together). Due to that, I am taking a break from my post schedule. Of course, keep up with me on Instagram as I’ll be posting behind-the-scenes details of our weekend. Also, I created this #NSale page and will update it with my picks periodically throughout my “break.” This page will be my hub for […]

Master Bedroom Tour

Master Bedroom Tour

Headboard | Duvet Cover | Alternative Down Comforter | Blush Quilt (similar) | Throw Pillows (similar) | Lamps (similar) | Nightstands | Storage Bench | Faux Silver Dear (similar) | Sunburst Mirror (similar) Bedtime is my favorite time. Hands down! You can see how I wind down after a long day in this post here, so I won’t delve into that much more. Our bedroom is so comfortable and cozy, even Rebel and Tiger couldn’t help but make an appearance in today’s post. They always snooze on our bed but any excuse to snap a pic these puppies and I’ll do it. Plus, if you follow me on Instagram, you may wonder why Tiger isn’t in my stories much. He literally won’t. sit. still. for anything! This was post-walk and a rare occasion when he actually laid down to rest. Anyways, when it came to decorating our bedroom, which was actually one of the first rooms to be completed, I wanted it to be simple and serene yet in line with our original vision for the house. If you’re new to my blog, the theme for our home is western chic of sorts with “cowboy” touches (think cowhides, faux taxidermy, etc.) in conjunction with a mix of gold […]

Ruffle Trim Blouse

Ruffle Trim Top

Ruffle Trim Blouse | White Flare Jeans | Speedy 30 | Wedges | Sunglasses This week was on fast-forward and I sorta loved it! Work was extremely busy with just three days and I feel like I blinked and Friday’s here. Yay! With this week already wrapping up, I can’t wait to sport this ruffle trim blouse from Nordstrom next week at the office. I love the pinstripes and exaggerated ruffle trim paired with the simplicity of a classic oxford. This is my idea of an oxford!  Anyways, this week’s inspiration comes from an unforeseen place! Mack loves to go see movies! Since this past weekend was a long one, naturally we went to see two haha. On Saturday we saw Wonder Woman and on Sunday we saw the new Transformers. They were both great but what stuck with me was a quote I heard before the movie even began. We got there early (to pick the best seats, as you do) and during one of the pre-movie trailer commercials I heard this quote, “maybe our most extraordinary moments happen when we feel small.” Mack and I both looked at each other acknowledging SO MUCH YES to that quote! Sadly, […]

What to Wear on a Summer Day in NYC

What to Wear in NYC

Chambray Dress (similar here & here) | Sunglasses | Sandals | Handbag (stole from Mom, mine here) I hope everyone had a great Independence Day weekend! One Monday, I detailed some fun ideas of what to do when you visit New York City. Today, I thought it would be fun to share the outfit that I wore on the day we walked over 22,000 steps. The fast-paced lifestyle of the City makes me feel like there’s never enough time to see everything. With that in mind, we definitely don’t go back to change during the day for different occasions- from breakfast to dinner and everything in-between, this chambray dress was my lifesaver. Here are some tips when dressing for a long day in the City: Make a Game Plan & Dress Accordingly: The City, although just a “small island,” packs a lot of punch in each neighborhood. Make sure to plan ahead and decide what you want to do then plan your outfit accordingly. Of course, this outfit was not what I wore when I attended the Bridal Shower but for a day of sightseeing and taking in the City, this dress, comfortable flat sandals and a cross body bag fit […]

What To Do in NYC

What To Do in NYC

If you follow me on Instagram then you know I was in New York City last weekend for my cousin’s bridal shower! It was a quick weekend trip but my Mom and I made the most of our short visit. From Times Square to Chelsea and the Upper East Side, we covered some SERIOUS ground. My Mom has a Fitbit and one day we walked over 22,000 steps. I mean…. we were hauling haha. Some highlights of our trip included: Sipping Frosé + Broadway Show: We picked War Paint, the story of Elizabeth Arden and Helena Rubinstein, the first dealing CEO’s of the makeup industry. We really enjoyed it! Walking the Highline: You HAVE to do this! It’s a fun way to see the city from an elevated walkway that boasts greenery in every direction. I always love to see nature in the concrete jungle. Wondering through Chelsea: If we ever move to NYC, I think this is where I’d like to be haha. It’s adorable. Bridal Shower: We loved spending the afternoon with family to cheers to our bride-to-be! Her wedding is just two weeks away now and we can’t wait! If you’ve followed along on here for […]

Utility Dress for the Weekend

Utility Dress for the Weekend

Utility Dress | Sunglasses | Clutch | Tennis Shoes (similar) Weekend wear at its best lives in a utility dress, flat sneakers and a clutch that offers hassle-free fun! The pre-holiday Independence Day weekend is here and I am SO glad. Mack has Monday and Tuesday off and I am lucky enough to also have an extended weekend and I literally don’t know what we’re going to do with ourselves! We are so excited for this mini vacation right in our own backyard. This frayed utility dress caught my eye in some recent online browsing shopping and it’s perfect for a relaxed weekend. Mack and I love to ride our bikes to dinner, have a couple of cocktails and then bike ride home. I know what you’re thinking, those people know how to #party! But to us, it’s a dream haha! This dress and hands-free clutch (the most weekend-friendly clutch ever) offer the comfortably and versatility to weekend how we want. We plan to do just that starting today and hope you have similar plans! Wishing you (an early) Happy Fourth of July! Thank you for reading today!
