Let’s Get Local: JumpinGoat Coffee

Let's Get Local: JumpinGoat

JumpinGoat Coffee There are few universal languages in this world but coffee is definitely one of them. Whether meeting up with friends to chit-chat or coworkers to business plan, coffee is always present. For me, there’s something about waking up and anticipating that first sip of hot coffee. I am sure some, if not all of you, can relate to that calming sip that provides the caffeine kick necessary to start each day. Now, image that sense of starting your day “brimming” with possibilities and add a harbor view and a quaint locally-owned trailer serving up fresh brews. That is exactly what you’ll find when you stumble upon JumpinGoat Coffee situated directly on Destin’s Harbor. Co-owners and caffeine connoisseurs, Mackenzie Destin, Grant Destin and Hayden Shaw envisioned this caffeine-toting trailer as a place for people to find common ground in our community. Personally, I know they’ve accomplished just that. And the best part? They’re just getting started. Serving up fresh coffee, smoothies, baked goods and even ice-cream sandwiches (yup, you read that right!) they’re thankful for the business they’ve rooted in the Destin community. I sat down with them to get a behind-the-scenes look at their fresh concept for life’s simple […]

Sneakers for Summer Under $100

Sneakers for Summer

Star Cut-Out Espadrille Sneakers (under $20!) I feel most myself when I am in a comfy t-shirt, jean shorts and a cute pair of sneakers. Something about the laid-back life that arrives each summer, makes me so happy. On the weekends, I barely wear makeup, we stay outdoors all day and usually go the beach. Our summer nights are passed with Cantina Laredo. They usually end with a movie after two Cabo Flips! We don’t dress up, we don’t stress out and a good pair of sneakers can take me through the entire day. I am sure you know the feeling. When I think about how much fun we have in the summer, I already have nostalgia knowing we won’t live in Florida’s panhandle forever. I snagged these star-cut out espadrille sneakers because I’ve never seen a sneaker better suited to serve me in the summer. The cut-outs allow for sand, sun and sipping through summer days without a care.  I linked a few additional options below (if you follow me on Instagram, you’ve already seen the pink perforated sneakers)! Do you live in sneakers, jean shorts and a t-shirt throughout the summer? I promise, that is when I am living […]

Three Ways to Sip into Summer with Simple Life Winery Rosé

Three Ways to Sip into Summer with Simple Life Winery Rosé

Gingham Dress | Watermelon Towel | Picnic Basket | Simple Life Winery Rosé As Memorial Day marks the unofficial start to summer, I think we can all agree we’re so happy it’s here. For Mack and I, summer is always associated with the beach. But I know that for some of you, the beach means vacation. So let’s chat about three ways to sip into the summer (and feel like you’re on vacation) no matter where you are geographically. The quickest way to be transported into the summer season is to make that pivotal transition from pinot noir to rosé! There’s just something about a chilled glass of rosé enjoyed outdoors that emulates bliss unlike any other. Am I right, or am I right? Hit play on the Summer Acoustics playlist on Spotify and let’s chat about three ways to sip into summer with Simple Life Winery Rosé. Sip #1: At-Home Happy Hour Although I am not the best cook, I am a skilled at-home bartender. I think some of you can relate! Luckily, it doesn’t take much talent to open a bottle of wine. In the summer time, we always opt to sip some wine on the patio before dinner […]

Three Mario Badescu Products to Try

Three Mario Badescu Products to Try

Mario Badescu Facial Spray | Mario Badescu Rose Hips Mask | Mario Badescu Whitening Mask The first time Mack saw me wearing a sheet mask… he was ACTUALLY scared. Look, I get it. Sheet masks are scary but in an attempt to improve the appearance and texture of my skin, I will try anything. It only took one time of me wearing a sheet mask that I decided never again. I even think Rebel and Tiger were confused. So, I went “old school” and bought some actual face masks to try. Let’s just say, these are much better and I love putting them on after a shower with my hair twisted up in a towel. I throw myself “spa nights” and it’s quickly becoming something I look forward to in the evening. In scouring the aisles of Ulta recently, I came across the Mario Badescu section. These products remind me of college because my roommate used to use this line religiously. The simple packaging and price point are what drew me back to them. If you’re on a budget (my tips to budgeting, here), I recommend these products as they don’t break the bank. Mario Badescu Masks to Try The […]

Bachelorette Little Black Dress Under $30

Bachelorette Little Black Dress Under $30

Bachelorette Little Back Dress (under $30!) [Sunglasses, Clutch, Shoes & Earrings are all from consignment stores around Denver (I may do an entire post about where the find the best stuff!)] I am heading to Austin tomorrow for my best friend’s bachelorette party! She truly is the reason I even know Mack. Obviosuly, I can’t wait to celebrate her with my favorite people from college in Texas this holiday weekend. Before I go however, I wanted to share this adorable, bachelorette party approved, little black dress. It’s under $30, but looks like $100. The quality does not match the price point- the fabric is thick, the ruffle sleeves aren’t flimsy and the mesh detailing doesn’t look cheap (if you know what I am saying). I bought this dress thinking there would be a night that we all wear black, while the bride shines in white. But, there aren’t any dress code requirements for the weekend so we’ll see if this number still makes the cut. Regardless, it’s the perfect pick for your weekend away with the girls. Okay, now onto my accessories. I swear my mom and I should be professional consignment shoppers. Even when I started this blog, I […]

Two New It Cosmetics Products to Try: Superhero Mascara and No. 50 Serum

Two New It Cosmetics Products to Try

It Cosmetics No. 50 Serum | It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara Oh my gosh you guys… it has been a month. May has been an eventful one- in both good and bad ways- but I am back home now and settling back into my routine. All that to say, I am sorry that I disappeared for the past few weeks. Between getting a gum graft, losing my Grandmother and traveling, let’s just say I needed a MINUTE. However, I am trying to get back on track so here goes! While I was home in Colorado, my Mom and I made an Ulta run. One thing that my Mom and I can always relate on, besides Rebel and Tiger, is consignment shopping and new beauty products. I have a deep rooted love for trying new products, testing different makeup options and more. However, my #budgetlife doesn’t allow for too much wiggle room beyond what I know I need when it comes to skincare and cosmetics. But, she spoiled me (#blessed). And now, these two products are going to fall into the necessity category in our budget. I am an avid It Cosmetics user (refer to this post detailing a few other products […]

How to Style a One Piece Swimsuit with Overalls

How to Style a One Piece Swimsuit

One Piece Swimsuit (also featured in this post!) | Overalls | Clutch (similar) | Sunglasses (similar) | Wedges Confession time… in my elementary school years I wore one thing and that was overalls. I had two pairs that I’d basically rotate all week. I am sure my teachers wondered if I only owned overalls, which I didn’t, but we like what we like! In fact, one of the first outfits I ever featured on my blog was this pair of skinny overalls (excuse the iPad photos 😂)! Some things never change. Here I am, pushing 28 and still dressing like a 3rd grader. #noshame Anyways, I would describe this pair above as the “boyfriend jeans” of overalls- they’re loose, comfortable and perfect for lounging. In the spring and summer we oftentimes go the beach (I hardly ever get in the water unless I am roasting), then walk around, ride our bikes or head to get lunch. I picked up these overalls because I knew they’d be cute styled over my one piece swimsuit all summer long! I featured this ruffle one piece a few weeks ago and I’ve worn it the beach a few times since. It’s perfect for beach […]

Trends to Try for Summer

Trends to Try for Summer

Clutch (I purchased mine at Hemline Sandestin, similar here and here) Even though I am currently in Denver where the weather seriously just needs to pick a side (snow one day, 70 degrees the next), summer is almost here! I know it’s already summer back home in Florida and I must say that I am missing our consistently hot weather. But I am happy to see my family nonetheless! I featured this wood clutch in last week’s post and had to dedicate a post solely to it because 🙌🏼. I saw this bag here and there last season but it’s back in full-force and if I am being honest… I jumped on the bandwagon. I couldn’t deny that I too wanted to sport this seemingly unrealistic handbag all summer. I am here to tell you however, that it actually conceals the contents better than you’d think. Furthermore, it’s not as unrealistic as it looks! To my surprise, this clutch functions and just happens to be statement-making! Who doesn’t love that? With my new fav clutch, I also wanted to share two additional trends to try this summer. I think you’ll find them easy to incorporate into your summer must-haves, too: Pastels- […]

What to Wear on a Sunday in the Spring

Spring Sunday Style

Polka Dot Dress | Star Espadrilles | Ark Bag (similar, I got mine at Hemline Sandestin) | Sunglasses (similar) A Sunday in the spring on the Emerald Coast is what dreams. are. made. of. A typical Sunday for Mack and me includes church, swinging through a coffee shop, meal prep and getting outside one way or another (usually via cruiser bike!). Sometimes if we’re feeling spontaneous we will head out to 30A for lunch and just soak up that #patiolife. Sundays are my favorite because they’re sweet and slow! Because we are usually going from church to coffee to lunching on a patio, I need a Sunday outfit that is suitable for all occasions. Here are my tips for what to wear on a Sunday in the spring: Find a conservative dress you love (ideally with a little pattern)- Polka dots are timeless. I’ve always loved the simple pattern (even when my strict all-girls high school tried to shut down my polka dot heels that I wore on the first day of my freshman year but that’s besides the point). To me, a small polka dot pattern rarely competes with my accessories so I like that it plays well with others. The […]
