Is it too soon to be thinking about Labor Day weekend? Probably. But I am going for it anyway! The official end to summer is almost here and although the temperatures would suggest otherwise in Florida, we’ve had a few cool mornings this week that have been extremely refreshing. As summer bids its farewell I wanted to suggest some ways to spend the precious three day weekend:
- Staycation– Taking a vacation can be more trouble than it’s worth, especially when it’s just over a three day period. Opt to stay local instead and try to see your hometown through the eyes of someone who is visiting. I am working on a new post for you all about the area where we live and I plan to do just that!
- Home Touch-Ups– I am not kidding when I tell you that three of the four lightbulbs in our kitchen have been burnt out for MONTHS. Embarrassing I know. I plan to utilize some extra time I have this weekend to complete some much needed home touch-ups if you will- like changing light bulbs. I will probably do a Home Goods run for some fall candles too! Survey your home to see if there’s anything that could use a little love before the seasons change.
- Shop Local– With any holiday weekend there are sales! I plan to scour some local boutiques to browse the sales! Also, my entire outfit above, except my crossbody and sunnies, is from Blush Destin. This is my “weekend’s here, don’t care” look!
- *Try* to Relax– If you’re anything like me, your week is SO busy followed by a jam-packed weekend of errands, church and prepping for the week ahead. With an extra day, I plan to go to the beach and relax. I am literally going to make myself think about nothing haha. Is that even possible? I’ll let you know after Monday. Take a walk, read a book, lounge by the pool, or simply stay on the couch for an hour longer that you planned. Whatever allows you to decompress, try that this weekend!
Although I am sad to see summer time conclude, I am welcoming football season, sweater weather and booties back into my life. I’ve never been a pumpkin spice kinda gal but other than that, bring on all things fall! After this weekend of course.
Thank you so much for reading today!
