Workwear is heavily dependent on company culture! I’ve worked in a number of different settings, each requiring it’s own specific wardrobe. However, I believe there are a few key pieces that any working girl needs on hand in her closet! For me, those universal items include a midi dress, a conservative black dress, functional blazer, dainty lace blouse easy for layering, long sleeve grey blouse (because offices are always cold!), go-to pair of black tailored pants, block heels, flats and a carry-all tote bag. I believe with these key items, dressing for the workday is made easy depending on what the day holds. For a day at the office, I usually opt for a dress and flats as that’s most comfortable for me wear all day. If we are out of the office, I try to dress up a little more pulling together my black pants, a blouse layered under a blazer and a pair of block heels. When in doubt, dress to impress! These staples (all under $100) present a professional appearance in that they’re conservative, feature muted tones and classic pieces that transcend time. Furthermore, these pieces can be integrated with personal style though accessory choices such as a cute leopard watch since they’re so versatile. Workwear doesn’t have to be boring but mindful always!
