Fall Festivities on the Emerald Coast

Fall Festivities

Fall in Florida means beach days and 80 degree weather… it’s perfect! But it offers a different kind of perfect while everyone else enjoys their Maple Pecan Lattes from Starbucks, we are still sitting in summer-like temperatures here. Luckily, the temperatures start to drop in November so I am crafting my fall to do list a few weeks early (for me) but a few weeks late (to the rest of the country)! Here are some fun fall festivities that I’d like to partake in to welcome chilly temperatures: Go to the pumpkin patch– Check! Our coastal version of the pumpkin patch made for a fun Sunday afternoon even in the Florida heat. As you can see from the photos above, it was a bright and sunny day. Attend an SEC Football Game {or two}– We live in SEC country with a number of large schools within driving distance. We are headed somewhere fun THIS WEEK but I’ll share more about that on Wednesday. Nothing says fall like a Saturday down South while watching a football game! Enjoy a cinnamon roll- Once fall hits, I am all about baked goods! Give me a warm crumb cake, scone or cinnamon roll and I […]

Star Chambray + Leopard Booties

Star Chambray

Star Chambray | Black Skinny Jeans | Leopard Booties | Sunglasses (similar) | Handbag (similar) | Earrings (similar) The day I bought this sweet little star chambray I also watched La La Land. If you’ve seen the movie than you already know that every time I look at it all I can think about is, “City of stars…” {if you don’t know what I am talking about you NEED to watch La La Land this weekend, cancel all your plans haha}. Anyways, I have three buttons ups and they’ve been on constant rotation as of late. I like that they’re as comfortable as a t-shirt but more put together than said t-shirt. I pair them with either black skinny jeans or my cut-off shorts depending on the temperature of the day. I like to complete the look with fun details such as tassel earrings and leopard booties to achieve the simple yet chic #ootd. Whether you have a casual office setting or simply want a relaxed weekend look, you’ll love this star chambray that’s under $20. Now back to more important matters, raise your hand if you think Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone need to be together in real life. […]

Get Fit Before the Holidays

Get Fit Before the Holidays

In high school I never realized how much I was working out when it was through school sports. Those built-in times to workout never really felt like working out to me. Once I hit college, I realized that I had to create time to workout as it’s no longer a required part of my day. Luckily for me, I enjoyed the class schedule at the Fitness Center and also joined a sorority with a workout room which made my Housewives obsession actually a productive few hours during my week. Fast forward to post-grad, working the 9-5 life and that’s when working out and I really had a tough time haha. We basically broke up for a few months. I “couldn’t” make myself get up an hour earlier and I hate to workout a night. I noticed it became all about how can I get out of working out rather than focusing on the benefits that a good workout brings. I’ve tried it all; zumba, pilates, the treadmill, weights classes and more without ever feeling like I really enjoy it. Mack on the other hand has always made working out a priority which inevitably has rubbed off on me as it’s something […]

Fall Trends Under $100

Fall Trends

Velvet Romper | Embroidered Clutch | Wide Brim Hat | Scarf | Tassel Earrings | Waterfall Jacket | Leopard Booties | Satin Bomber | Scalloped Hem Sweater I am a big proponent of wearing what you like as opposed to keeping up with the ever-changing trends. But I had to highlight some consistencies that I am seeing this fall as I am equally obsessed with all of them. Best part? Everything you see above is under $100, so let’s get down to it. The major players in this seasons game are velvet, embroidery, leopard print (always!) and sleek details like navy blue tassel earrings or a smooth satin jacket in an unexpected hue. I love that we are seeing lighter, airy colors incorporated into styling selections for cooler weather. If you’re like me, you’re already envisioning where you’ll wear the lilac waterfall jacket, black skinnies and those leopard booties. The perfect fall date night combo for margaritas, queso and chicken tortilla soup if you ask me (Mack and I love Mexican date night no matter what the season)! Which fall trends are your favorite? Let me know below. Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a […]

Fall Travel Style

Travel Style

Sweater | Camo T-Shirt (similar) | Black Skinnies | Tennis Shoes | Sunglasses | Tote Bag A few months ago I traveled to Miami to celebrate my cousin Larisa’s bachelorette party. I flew in with Bri (her older sister) the night before she arrived so we could have everything ready. We landed late at night and booked a hotel very close to the airport since we would be there for a mere few hours before heading to the South Beach hotel that would be the hub of the girls weekend. I am not going to lie… I was scared to stay there when we parked. Bri, who has traveled across Europe multiple times, must have sensed my nerves as she kindly and cheerfully voiced how important she thinks traveling is. She has slept in hostiles, train stations and hotels in countless other countries which made this little hotel not so scary to her. Although I am not a world-traveler, it’s something I often think about and hope to do someday with Mack. I think we can all agree that traveling is something we all wish we could do more frequently. With that simple and uniting fact in mind, here are my tips for […]

Halloween Ready Home Under $20

Halloween Ready Home Under $20 with HomeGoods

Four days into October and my home is prepped and ready for Halloween! We live in an area that is heavy in tourists and light in people that actually live here full time. With that fact in mind, we didn’t get one trick-or-treater last year {kinda sad, I know}! But that doesn’t stop me from prepping our home with simple touches that commemorate the holiday! Here are three ways to get your home Halloween ready for under $20: Witch Way to the Candy- Update your candy dish with Halloween themed candy! I always keep candy in this dish and found the eyeball gumballs, pumpkin gummies and dracula teeth at Homegoods and knew they’d complete our candy dish through October. Reese’s Pumpkins are my absolute favorite. What’s your favorite sweet treat- whether trick-or-treating or not? Boos & Booze- I picked up these cheeky cocktail napkins to place on our bar cart leading up to Halloween! I like to tailor small details throughout our house that don’t overwhelm but make the season at home FUN! Also, it’s very clear that Tiger is in fact not here for the “boos” but really just wants candy- he didn’t get any. Pumpkins Please- I love […]

One Year at Home

One Year at Home

See our full guest bedroom + tips to host a house guest, here. {I am in the process of updating the bedding so I’ll post an update soon!} See our full dining room, here. See my “desk nook” details, here. Step into our backyard/patio space, here. See our master bedroom decor, here. See our living room details, here. It seems like yesterday that Mack and I packed up the condo we were renting and signed on the dotted line to purchase our first home. We’ve lived here now for ONE YEAR and I promise time is passing so quickly with each and every day. I can say that without a doubt, home is our favorite place to be and to us, it’s perfect. Mack always laughs at how defensive I am of our home! It’s our space and in it we are most comfortable and most importantly grateful that it’s ours. We surely don’t deserve it and never take for granted the simple fact that we are fortunate enough to have a  roof over our heads. Over the past year, we’ve learned a thing or two (or 10) about what it means to be a homeowner. So far, it has […]

Gingham Dress

Gingham Dress

Gingham Dress | Buckle Block Heels (similar) | Clutch | Earrings | Sunglasses (similar) If it’s a Saturday there are two places that you can find me if you need me: 1. Homegoods and 2. Target. It’s like a bad habit that I need to quit but I honestly love the un-rushed feeling of winding up and down every aisle! Last weekend, I swear the checkout guy at Homegoods gave me the, “I think I know you from somewhere ohhhh wait you’re just here every Saturday that I work.” Even if I don’t buy anything, I just like to peruse. Some may think it’s a waste of time but it’s legitimately fun for me. File this under things adults don’t tell you- doing literally nothing at all is the most fun you ever had! In one of my recent trips to Target I spotted this gingham dress and knew it belonged at home with me. For under $40, I couldn’t say no! Mostly because I love a good pattern and well… the sleeves (you all get me haha)! I pieced together this somewhat mismatched outfit but love it. There was a time when I would never mix brown and black but now […]

Must-Have Shoes for October

Three Styles of Shoes for October

Mule Loafers | Glitter Booties (similar) | Peep-Toe Booties (also love this pair!) With October starting this past weekend (I mean, where has 2017 gone? I am actually worried.) I wanted to share what I like to call the in-between shoes that are a must-have for October. Remove the sandals and wedges from your closet and replace them with a selection of shoes that can transform as the leaves fall and winter temperatures nip at your nose. Since we’re not quite to winter temperatures part yet (aka riding boot season), at least in Florida, I want to offer three options that feel like fall but work until the weather catches up with the season. Stock your closet with these three options to have well-rounded selections all month long: The Mule Loafer (under $25!): Perfect for a day of errands, work or even walking the dogs. In the summertime, I leave a pair of flat slides by the door to run out the door if necessary. These are my new go-to! I’ve worn them like four days in a row which is everyday since I got them. I’ve sported them to work, church and grocery shopping. I love them with a simple […]

Bring Fall Home

Bringing Fall Home

As we all know, the official start to fall was last week! Although I’ve detailed how it’s not totally fall here in Florida yet, that didn’t stop me from preparing our home for the season ahead. It’s always so fun as the seasons change- like a fresh start with the cool air that’s soon to greet us. I love this feeling. With that in mind, here are three simple and inexpensive ways to bring fall home: Seasonal Touches- Although I love Halloween, black and orange would seriously throw off my color scheme at home. Therefore, I opted for subtle touches like a simple white pumpkin for the front porch, an updated neutral wreath, black and white skeleton dish towels, and metallic gold pumpkins in the center of our dining table. And side note, I never put the pumpkins away after last year so they’ve literally been out ALL YEAR. How embarrassing, I know! But luckily for me, they’re back in season haha. When decorating for the season, take note of items that will compliment, not clash with your current decor so it doesn’t bother you after just a few weeks. I also like to keep decor general (minus my dish […]
