How to Style a One Piece Swimsuit with Overalls

How to Style a One Piece Swimsuit

One Piece Swimsuit (also featured in this post!) | Overalls | Clutch (similar) | Sunglasses (similar) | Wedges Confession time… in my elementary school years I wore one thing and that was overalls. I had two pairs that I’d basically rotate all week. I am sure my teachers wondered if I only owned overalls, which I didn’t, but we like what we like! In fact, one of the first outfits I ever featured on my blog was this pair of skinny overalls (excuse the iPad photos 😂)! Some things never change. Here I am, pushing 28 and still dressing like a 3rd grader. #noshame Anyways, I would describe this pair above as the “boyfriend jeans” of overalls- they’re loose, comfortable and perfect for lounging. In the spring and summer we oftentimes go the beach (I hardly ever get in the water unless I am roasting), then walk around, ride our bikes or head to get lunch. I picked up these overalls because I knew they’d be cute styled over my one piece swimsuit all summer long! I featured this ruffle one piece a few weeks ago and I’ve worn it the beach a few times since. It’s perfect for beach […]

Trends to Try for Summer

Trends to Try for Summer

Clutch (I purchased mine at Hemline Sandestin, similar here and here) Even though I am currently in Denver where the weather seriously just needs to pick a side (snow one day, 70 degrees the next), summer is almost here! I know it’s already summer back home in Florida and I must say that I am missing our consistently hot weather. But I am happy to see my family nonetheless! I featured this wood clutch in last week’s post and had to dedicate a post solely to it because 🙌🏼. I saw this bag here and there last season but it’s back in full-force and if I am being honest… I jumped on the bandwagon. I couldn’t deny that I too wanted to sport this seemingly unrealistic handbag all summer. I am here to tell you however, that it actually conceals the contents better than you’d think. Furthermore, it’s not as unrealistic as it looks! To my surprise, this clutch functions and just happens to be statement-making! Who doesn’t love that? With my new fav clutch, I also wanted to share two additional trends to try this summer. I think you’ll find them easy to incorporate into your summer must-haves, too: Pastels- […]

What to Wear on a Sunday in the Spring

Spring Sunday Style

Polka Dot Dress | Star Espadrilles | Ark Bag (similar, I got mine at Hemline Sandestin) | Sunglasses (similar) A Sunday in the spring on the Emerald Coast is what dreams. are. made. of. A typical Sunday for Mack and me includes church, swinging through a coffee shop, meal prep and getting outside one way or another (usually via cruiser bike!). Sometimes if we’re feeling spontaneous we will head out to 30A for lunch and just soak up that #patiolife. Sundays are my favorite because they’re sweet and slow! Because we are usually going from church to coffee to lunching on a patio, I need a Sunday outfit that is suitable for all occasions. Here are my tips for what to wear on a Sunday in the spring: Find a conservative dress you love (ideally with a little pattern)- Polka dots are timeless. I’ve always loved the simple pattern (even when my strict all-girls high school tried to shut down my polka dot heels that I wore on the first day of my freshman year but that’s besides the point). To me, a small polka dot pattern rarely competes with my accessories so I like that it plays well with others. The […]

Warm Weather Refresh at Home

Warm Weather Refresh at Home

The idea of spring cleaning is great. The actual implementation of spring cleaning is another story! Over the past several weeks, I’ve chipped away at little to do’s on my list and it feels so good. More than just general cleaning, I took a deep dive into every nook and cranny of our home to really refresh the space for warm weather. Mack told me it was like I was getting ready to sell the house. NOT the case (actually I don’t think we’ll ever sell this place)! But I like the idea of having our house in its best possible shape, always. Here’s how I refreshed our space: Patio Refresh: I watch enough HGTV to understand curb appeal. Well, ours was seriously lacking! We have an entryway that’s gated (sounds way more glam than it actually is, trust me) and something about it has always been off to me. We had one random bush, pine straw everywhere and quite frankly, I wasn’t sure what kind of critters also called our entryway home. Oh, and we use it to park our cruiser bikes. If you’re getting a visual, it’s probably pretty accurate haha. After three hours to raking, relaying a […]

Wedge Weather

Wedge Weather

Wedges (under $40!) Murphy’s Law always comes into play when you want everything to go just right. Do you all agree? We had our friends in from Virginia Beach this past weekend and although they have a beach, they were ready to indulge in the white sand and sunshine of the Emerald Coast. Well, the weather was not the best but they assured me they still had a great time on their visit. Regardless, wedge weather and beach season are about to be undeniable (and I told them they can come back anytime for a sunny beach weekend haha). Wedges are my favorite mode of transportation in the summer time. I love that they elevate (both literally and figuratively) any warm weather outfit! I picked up this pair (color shown above is taupe) last season and they get A LOT of love. Because I realized I wear this pair so often, I am on the hunt for a few options to rotate in! Here’s what I’ve found so far: I am going to pretend like the following break down is for you all, but really I just need some justification to assist me in my decision on which option/s I need […]

Mustard Lace Overlay Romper

Mustard Lace Overlay Romper

Mustard Lace Overlay Romper | Wallet | Blush Heels | Sunglasses Let me start this post by saying although it looks so pretty and glamorous… not photographed were the numerous groups of college students on spring break hauling their Yeti coolers to the house party just on the other side of this bridge 😂. This situation was just funny because I am so sure they were VERY confused as to why Mack was taking my photos on a random bridge. My very selfless #instagramhusband just waited patiently as they passed and you all know I was so uncomfortable. Anyways, I hope that story made you smile even just a little! So, onto this mustard lace overlay romper. This little number is currently hanging in my closet and it’s like I am looking for any excuse to wear it. I didn’t know it until we shot this dress in a similar shade, but I think mustard is my color. You guys, I really love it. If you have dark brown hair, I suspect it’s your color too. If you’re not a fan of mustard (because I just checked and this shade is sold out- such is life haha), it also comes in […]

Peanut Butter Protein Bites

Peanut Butter Protein Bites

Peanut Butter Protein Bites I’ve been doing this thing recently where I have something at a restaurant that I love and then I scour Pinterest to find a copy-cat recipe! Baked Feta from Zoe’s… Pinterest. Peanut Butter Protein Bites from Freshii… Pinterest. “Be Awesome” smoothie from Formula Fresh… Pinterest. Although I don’t find that these copy-cats taste the exact same, they’re still delicious. For me I think food always tastes better when I don’t make it. Have I told you all I am not the best cook haha? Luckily, these no-bake peanut butter protein bites are super easy featuring only five ingredients. I find myself making these once, sometimes twice a week. I eat them when I get that mid-afternoon hunger strike but Mack eats them for “dessert” after his dinner (he also loves this Cookie Bar). I opt for Blue Bell for dessert but to each her/his own! 😂 Regardless, whether you need a hearty snack (I always eat two) or a sweet treat these are for you. Here’s what you’ll need: Ingredients 2/3 cup Peanut Butter 1/2 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips 1 cup Old Fashioned Oats 1/2 cup Ground Flaxseed 2 Tbsp Honey Shredded Coconut to taste Instructions Combine […]

Striped High-Low Dress

Striped High Low Dress

Striped High Low Dress | Leopard Clutch | Wedges | Sunglasses Where did this week go? I am definitely not complaining because #Friday but it was so busy for me. If you felt the same way, rest assured because the weekend is here and we can unplug! I have a few trips on the horizon that I am very excited about! Most notably, I am heading to Austin in May for one of my best friend’s bachelorette party and then to San Diego in July for her wedding. The best part about weddings- aside from seeing your bestie marry her beau- is the fact that it’s the best way to get old friends together. I have been missing my college clique and can’t wait to see everyone again, more than once, over the next several months. With fun trips on my mind, I couldn’t resist this gathered high-low striped dress (stripes are huge for spring)! It’s ideal for springtime on the coast but also great for brunch on a girls trip! Furthermore, I love to mix stripes with prints often. As referenced in this post, this leopard clutch is one I really can’t live without. No matter what season or […]

Embroidered Denim Shorts

Embroidered Denim Shorts

White T-shirt (similar– you probably already have one in your closet!) | Embroidered Denim Shorts | Wedges | Bucket Bag (sold out in blush, black here) | Sunglasses Hello and happy official start to spring (a few days late)! We’ve got long days, spring breakers and pollen in the air all checked off the, “is it spring yet?” list! Although we’ve been living in spring for last few weeks here in the Florida panhandle, I am glad the rest of the country will be joining us in the sunshine here soon. One of my favorite things about spring is the fact that everything BLOOMS. In walking the dogs the other day, I truly noticed that out of nowhere our neighborhood has fully bloomed. It looks amazing with every bush, tree and flower sprouted from the ground with such pretty color! I am obsessed and quite frankly inspired walking out our front door- for that, I am so thankful. As if I needed another excuse to walk the dogs (sometimes I will take them three times a day 😂)- the fresh flowers everywhere have me working extra walks in whenever I can! Rebel and Tiger aren’t complaining. To honor my obsession […]
