Ulta Haul: Part One

Ulta Haul_Part One 1

It Cosmetics Celebration Foundation | It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Eye Palette | It Cosmetics Vitality Lip Flush (shade is Je Ne Said Quoi) | It Cosmetics Anit-Aging Armour | It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pours Micro-Powder We are back from San Diego and it’s safe to say that although I love a good getaway, there’s no place like home (with Rebel and Tiger)! My mom flew to Florida to stay with the dogs while we went away. To some, this may seem extreme, but she needed a vacation and I needed a dog sitter. It was a win-win for all! Speaking of my mom, I’ve mentioned here before that she always treats me to makeup. Well, she recently had a special coupon for Ulta so I was able to do a big haul (thanks, mom)! Let’s back up for a minute however. A few weeks ago we went to Corpus Christi and I actually felt my makeup melting off. I thought this was just an expression until I experienced it myself. I don’t know if the Corpus humidity is more dense than the Florida humidity but it was an issue. On a quest to find a solution (although I don’t experience this all […]

Must-Have Black Jumpsuit Under $30

Must-Have Black Jumpsuit Under $30

Black Jumpsuit | Blush Feather Heels (sold out, similar) | Cat Clutch (old, I love this pom option too) | Sunglasses (similar) Sometimes when the heat of summer truly hits, the best opt out is to frequent your neighborhood bar, get a cold glass of champagne and remain in the air conditioning. That’s exactly what we did last weekend with our friends Jamie and Rob. I wore this must-have black jumpsuit (under $30!) and I felt like I was wearing my favorite silk jammies out in public (but it was acceptable). The material didn’t stick to me, hardly wrinkled and flowed nicely in the Florida humidity. I was so happy with how well it wore, I am wearing it this out this evening in San Diego! Although the pink feather heels didn’t make the trip (read why in this post), I packed my more neutral studded heels for the occasion. No matter what your weekend plans entail- whether attending an event or simply sipping happy hour drinks with your friends- this jumpsuit can take you there. Mack and I are in San Diego for our best friend’s wedding and so happy! We decided to fly out a few days early […]

Summer Shoe Showcase

Summer Shoe Showcase

Metallic Loafers | Spotted Slides | Sparkle Block Heels | Blush Feather Heels (sold out, similar) Was anyone else completely thrown off by the mid-week Independence Day holiday last week? I mean, I felt like Thursday was Sunday and it just had me out of my rhythm. This week, we are heading to the California (the O.C. theme song is blaring in my mind right now) so being out of my norm continues. I feel like this is the summer standard and I am SO excited because we are wedding bound. When I first arrived at Ole Miss, I met two friends that instantly became my closest friends. This weekend, one of those friends is tying the knot and I don’t think I’ve been this excited since my own wedding. Seriously. Before we go however, I wanted to share my summer shoes picks quickly. And mostly because I am trying to figure out how to bring the blush feather heels with me to San Diego. See here’s the thing, Mack and I always share a suitcase when we travel so I only bring items that can be worn more than once. Those blush heels are a strong one-time wear so […]

Let’s Get Creative: Alli Crowson Designs

Let's Get Creative: Alli Crowson Designs

Alli Crowson Designs Welcome to my new series, Let’s Get Creative. Similar to my Let’s Get Locals, only these posts will highlight creatives that I know and admire both in my community and afar. With that, I bring you Alli Crowson Designs based in Austin, TX! I  have such an affinity for the creative arts although I possess no artistic talent myself- seriously, none. When I saw a sneak peek of Alli’s watercolor collection via Instagram, I knew I had to have a piece (or all of them). Her hand-painted watercolors feature depictions of happiness for 20-somethings and beyond. The vibrant colors, relatable depictions of everyday items that bring us joy and her passion for making walls happy are key elements surrounding the ACD brand which launched in June! As fellow firm believers in highlighting the “happy” in the everyday, I virtually sat down with Alli to get to know more about her company. Did I mention she’s still a student at the University of Texas? I mean, goals. Here’s what she had to say: 1. What inspired you to start Alli Crowson Designs? I have always loved to paint, ALWAYS. Anyone close to me would tell you that I often […]

Three Outfit Ideas for Independence Day (That You Probably Already Have in Your Closet!)

Independence Day

White Linen Dress | Denim Jacket (similar) | Bamboo Clutch (similar) | Star Espadrilles | Tiered Tassel Earrings (almost identical) | Sunglasses (similar) Happy early Fourth of July! It feels so weird with the holiday falling in the middle of the week- like do we just take the day off or do we take an extra long weekend to really soak it in? I work from home so I am still trying to maneuver how that’ll work. I think I am just going to take Wednesday off… against my better judgement. 😂 Regardless, whether celebrating tomorrow or through the weekend, I wanted to offer some outfit inspiration that you probably already have on hand (we all LOVE that)! Without further ado, let’s jump in. Three Outfit Ideas for Independence Day White Linen Dress Everyone, and I mean everyone probably has some form of a white dress in their closet. This linen dress has been on repeat lately because #heatwave. Also, I wore this for a day of travel last month and it look me from the plane to a family luncheon with no problem at all. It wears well and even if it wrinkles, they aren’t noticeable (oh, and it’s under $50). […]

Three Ideas for Girls’ Night In with Simple Life Winery

Three Ideas for Girls' Night In with Simple Life Winery

Simple Life Winery Rosé If you had asked me in college what my favorite thing to do when I was in my late-twenties would be, my answer would have probably been wrong. If you watched my Insta-story yesterday then you know that I am happiest when I am home. Now don’t get me wrong, I am all about a fun girls’ night out! But with the surge of visitors to our area this time of year, getting into a restaurant is like elbowing your way into the Royal Wedding (okay, probably not that bad but you get the point). So for that reason, I am sharing three ways to enjoy girls’ night IN with Simple Life Winery. Every good girls’ night starts and ends with rosé, so let’s break it down. Three Ideas for Girls’ Night In Host a Barbecue The Fourth of July is right around the corner. Can you believe it? How is 2018 already half way over? I don’t understand. Regardless, there’s something nostalgic about having a good old fashioned barbecue. Luckily, as long as you have an outdoor space and a grill, you’re set. And you definitely don’t need a fancy grill. Mack and I have […]

Gingham Dress for Summer & Life Lately

Gingham Dress for Summer

One-Shoulder Gingham Dress | Wedges (similar) | Sunglasses (see this post) | Louis Vuitton Never Full (Borrowed from my Mom) I hope everyone enjoyed the first official weekend of summer! I know the trendy thing to say right now is, “living my best life” but I will take it one step further and say that Mack and I are “living our summer life!” We have been so busy with family time (we have new baby nephew and we’re obsessed with him), beach time and travel time (we just got back from Texas and are California bound next month) that I’ve been side-tracked. And although I would normally get myself in a tiff over not adhering perfectly to my post schedule- I am giving myself some grace and just going with flow. And anyone who knows me will say that I am the exact opposite of a go with the flow type girl. But here’s to trying and just embracing this time Mack and I have together. Anyways, it’s no secret that I love gingham. Sometimes I think that I should just start over in my closet with just black and white. Besides blush, I really think I could live solely […]

Let’s Get Local: JumpinGoat Coffee

Let's Get Local: JumpinGoat

JumpinGoat Coffee There are few universal languages in this world but coffee is definitely one of them. Whether meeting up with friends to chit-chat or coworkers to business plan, coffee is always present. For me, there’s something about waking up and anticipating that first sip of hot coffee. I am sure some, if not all of you, can relate to that calming sip that provides the caffeine kick necessary to start each day. Now, image that sense of starting your day “brimming” with possibilities and add a harbor view and a quaint locally-owned trailer serving up fresh brews. That is exactly what you’ll find when you stumble upon JumpinGoat Coffee situated directly on Destin’s Harbor. Co-owners and caffeine connoisseurs, Mackenzie Destin, Grant Destin and Hayden Shaw envisioned this caffeine-toting trailer as a place for people to find common ground in our community. Personally, I know they’ve accomplished just that. And the best part? They’re just getting started. Serving up fresh coffee, smoothies, baked goods and even ice-cream sandwiches (yup, you read that right!) they’re thankful for the business they’ve rooted in the Destin community. I sat down with them to get a behind-the-scenes look at their fresh concept for life’s simple […]

Sneakers for Summer Under $100

Sneakers for Summer

Star Cut-Out Espadrille Sneakers (under $20!) I feel most myself when I am in a comfy t-shirt, jean shorts and a cute pair of sneakers. Something about the laid-back life that arrives each summer, makes me so happy. On the weekends, I barely wear makeup, we stay outdoors all day and usually go the beach. Our summer nights are passed with Cantina Laredo. They usually end with a movie after two Cabo Flips! We don’t dress up, we don’t stress out and a good pair of sneakers can take me through the entire day. I am sure you know the feeling. When I think about how much fun we have in the summer, I already have nostalgia knowing we won’t live in Florida’s panhandle forever. I snagged these star-cut out espadrille sneakers because I’ve never seen a sneaker better suited to serve me in the summer. The cut-outs allow for sand, sun and sipping through summer days without a care.  I linked a few additional options below (if you follow me on Instagram, you’ve already seen the pink perforated sneakers)! Do you live in sneakers, jean shorts and a t-shirt throughout the summer? I promise, that is when I am living […]

Three Ways to Sip into Summer with Simple Life Winery Rosé

Three Ways to Sip into Summer with Simple Life Winery Rosé

Gingham Dress | Watermelon Towel | Picnic Basket | Simple Life Winery Rosé As Memorial Day marks the unofficial start to summer, I think we can all agree we’re so happy it’s here. For Mack and I, summer is always associated with the beach. But I know that for some of you, the beach means vacation. So let’s chat about three ways to sip into the summer (and feel like you’re on vacation) no matter where you are geographically. The quickest way to be transported into the summer season is to make that pivotal transition from pinot noir to rosé! There’s just something about a chilled glass of rosé enjoyed outdoors that emulates bliss unlike any other. Am I right, or am I right? Hit play on the Summer Acoustics playlist on Spotify and let’s chat about three ways to sip into summer with Simple Life Winery Rosé. Sip #1: At-Home Happy Hour Although I am not the best cook, I am a skilled at-home bartender. I think some of you can relate! Luckily, it doesn’t take much talent to open a bottle of wine. In the summer time, we always opt to sip some wine on the patio before dinner […]
