Love: Makeup Forever HD Foundation | Makeup Forever Full Cover | Makeup Forever Pro Finish Powder | Nars Bronzer (I use Laguna) | Nars Blush (I use Orgasm)| Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara | Clinique Chubby Stick
I am a person of habit and routine when it comes to nearly everything life, especially when applying makeup. At the same time each morning, I get ready and do so in the identical order as yesterday with very little variation from the basics. Don’t get me wrong, I like to switch up my eyeshadow, use a different eyeliner and apply a new shade of lipstick depending on the occasion. But the bare basics of my makeup routine remain the same and the methods to apply remain unchanged. Here’s what I love, want to try and some last minute gifts for a beauty guru in your life.
I love the Makeup Forever products and find that they simply work for me. I decided to try them because I love Jessie James Decker. She recommends the Full Cover and uses it as an under eye concealer. Naturally, I had to try it too (word of mouth marketing works on me haha). Each morning, I start with the Full Cover under my eyes and to cover blemishes. This is really pigmented concealer. Don’t quote me on this but I am pretty sure the lady at Sephora told me it’s used on movie sets to cover tattoos. So trust me when I say that a blemish hardly stands a chance. I follow this with the HD Foundation and I use my makeup brush to apply it evenly throughout my entire face. I top it off with the Pro Finish Powder and my skin looks smooth, clear and not cakey at all. Next, I apply a swipe of the glittery gold Chubby Stick to my eyelids. I love this simple and low maintance means to applying eye makeup. It’s perfect for everyday, brigthens my eyes and doesn’t crease. I then go back to my face and apply bronzer and blush. I prefer Nars bronzer and blush to any other brand and I’ve used these two since high school! Finally, I finish off my everyday look with a few swipes of mascara (and eyeliner depending on the day). I’ve used these products every single day for about two years now and continually get compliments on my skin. If you’re looking for a new everyday regime, I recommend this suite of products, hands dow.
Next up is my, “Want to Try” list! My Mom started to use the IT Cosmetics line a few months ago and I am dying to try it out (specifically this, this and this). Although I am very brand loyal, I also like to test new products and compare to my current obsessions. These IT Cosmetics items seem promising and my Mom likes them a lot. Maybe Santa will bring me some in my stocking that I can reveiw for you all (Mom, are you reading this?). Finally, I’ve never been one to commit to using masks but I want to try! I’ve noticed so many changes in my skin moving from a dry climate to a humid climate. Also, in the past few years, I have the ever so slight signs of sun damage that I hope to combat in a natural way- I hope that’s possible. I plan to head to Sephora and stock up on these $6 masks to try in Januray and note if I see any positive changes in my skin. Any recommendations for a mask I should try?
Finally, I wanted to share some gift ideas for any beauty lovers on your list. I can’t believe Christmas is so close! Here is my gift guide round-up if you’re still looking for some options! If you do have a lady in your life that needs a stocking stuffer or two- I think a lip kit, beauty blender or full brush set is always a great option. Side note, I saw a video recently detailing how there is an option to make a custom lip color at the Bite store in NYC- can I please go now?!
Head over to my snapchat (username: lmrsp) for a look into my morning routine! I hope you have a great Wednesday!
