Three Outfit Ideas for Independence Day (That You Probably Already Have in Your Closet!)

Independence Day

White Linen Dress | Denim Jacket (similar) | Bamboo Clutch (similar) | Star Espadrilles | Tiered Tassel Earrings (almost identical) | Sunglasses (similar) Happy early Fourth of July! It feels so weird with the holiday falling in the middle of the week- like do we just take the day off or do we take an extra long weekend to really soak it in? I work from home so I am still trying to maneuver how that’ll work. I think I am just going to take Wednesday off… against my better judgement. čśé┬áRegardless, whether celebrating tomorrow or through the weekend, I wanted to offer some outfit inspiration that you probably already have on hand (we all LOVE that)! Without further ado, let’s jump in. Three Outfit Ideas for Independence Day White Linen Dress Everyone, and I mean everyone probably has some form of a white dress in their closet. This linen dress┬áhas been on repeat lately because #heatwave. Also, I wore this for a day of travel last month and it look me from the plane to a family luncheon with no problem at all. It wears well and even if it wrinkles, they aren’t noticeable (oh, and it’s under $50). […]

Gingham Dress for Summer & Life Lately

Gingham Dress for Summer

One-Shoulder Gingham Dress | Wedges (similar) | Sunglasses (see this post) | Louis Vuitton Never Full (Borrowed from my Mom) I hope everyone enjoyed the first official weekend of summer! I know the trendy thing to say right now is, “living my best life” but I will take it one step further and say that Mack and I are “living our summer life!” We have been so busy with family time (we have new baby nephew and we’re obsessed with him), beach time and travel time (we just got back from Texas and are California bound next month) that I’ve been side-tracked. And although I would normally get myself in a tiff over not adhering perfectly to my post schedule- I am giving myself some grace and just going with flow. And anyone who knows me will say that I am the exact opposite of a go with the flow type girl. But here’s to trying and just embracing this time Mack and I have together. Anyways, it’s no secret that I love gingham. Sometimes I think that I should just start over in my closet with just black and white. Besides blush, I really think I could live solely […]

Sneakers for Summer Under $100

Sneakers for Summer

Star Cut-Out Espadrille Sneakers┬á(under $20!) I feel most myself when I am in a comfy t-shirt, jean shorts and a cute pair of sneakers. Something about the laid-back life that arrives each summer, makes me so happy. On the weekends, I barely wear makeup, we stay outdoors all day and usually go the beach. Our summer nights are passed with Cantina Laredo. They usually end with a movie after two Cabo Flips! We don’t dress up, we don’t stress out and a good pair of sneakers can take me through the entire day. I am sure you know the feeling. When I think about how much fun we have in the summer, I already have nostalgia knowing we won’t live in Florida’s panhandle forever. I snagged these star-cut out espadrille sneakers because I’ve never seen a sneaker better suited to serve me in the summer. The cut-outs allow for sand, sun and sipping through summer days without a care. ┬áI linked a few additional options below (if you follow me on Instagram, you’ve already seen the pink perforated sneakers)! Do you live in sneakers, jean shorts and a t-shirt throughout the summer? I promise, that is when I am living […]

Bachelorette Little Black Dress Under $30

Bachelorette Little Black Dress Under $30

Bachelorette Little Back Dress (under $30!) [Sunglasses, Clutch, Shoes & Earrings are all from consignment stores around Denver (I may do an entire post about where the find the best stuff!)] I am heading to Austin tomorrow for my best friend’s bachelorette party! She truly is the reason I even know Mack. Obviosuly, I can’t wait to celebrate her with my favorite people from college in Texas this holiday weekend. Before I go however, I wanted to share this adorable, bachelorette party approved, little black dress. It’s under $30, but looks like $100. The quality does not match the price point- the fabric is thick, the ruffle sleeves aren’t flimsy and the mesh detailing doesn’t look cheap (if you know what I am saying). I bought this dress thinking there would be a night that we all wear black, while the bride shines in white. But, there aren’t any dress code requirements for the weekend so we’ll see if this number still makes the cut. Regardless, it’s the perfect pick for your weekend away with the girls. Okay, now onto my accessories. I swear my mom and I should be professional consignment shoppers. Even when I started this blog, I […]

Trends to Try for Summer

Trends to Try for Summer

Clutch (I purchased mine at Hemline Sandestin, similar here and here) Even though I am currently in Denver where the weather seriously just needs to pick a side (snow one day, 70 degrees the next), summer is almost here! I know it’s already summer back home in Florida and I must say that I am missing our consistently hot weather. But I am happy to see my family nonetheless! I featured this wood clutch in last week’s post and had to dedicate a post solely to it because┬áčÖîčĆ╝. I saw this bag here and there last season but it’s back in full-force and if I am being honest… I jumped on the bandwagon. I couldn’t deny that I too wanted to sport this seemingly unrealistic handbag all summer. I am here to tell you however, that it actually conceals the contents better than you’d think. Furthermore, it’s not as unrealistic as it looks! To my surprise, this clutch functions and just happens to be statement-making! Who doesn’t love that? With my new fav clutch, I also wanted to share two additional trends to try this summer. I think you’ll find them easy to incorporate into your summer must-haves, too: Pastels- […]

What to Wear on a Sunday in the Spring

Spring Sunday Style

Polka Dot Dress | Star Espadrilles | Ark Bag (similar, I got mine at Hemline Sandestin) | Sunglasses (similar) A Sunday in the spring on the Emerald Coast is what dreams. are. made. of. A typical Sunday for Mack and me includes church, swinging through a coffee shop, meal prep and getting outside one way or another (usually via cruiser bike!). Sometimes if we’re feeling spontaneous we will head out to 30A for lunch and just soak up that #patiolife. Sundays are my favorite because they’re sweet and slow! Because we are usually going from church to coffee to lunching on a patio, I need a Sunday outfit that is suitable for all occasions. Here are my tips for what to wear on a Sunday in the spring: Find a conservative dress you love (ideally with a little pattern)- Polka dots are timeless. I’ve always loved the simple pattern (even when my strict all-girls high school tried to shut down my polka dot heels that I wore on the first day of my freshman year but that’s besides the point). To me, a small polka dot pattern rarely competes with my accessories so I like that it┬áplays well with others.┬áThe […]

Wedge Weather

Wedge Weather

Wedges┬á(under $40!) Murphy’s Law always comes into play when you want everything to go just right. Do you all agree? We had our friends in from Virginia Beach this past weekend and although they have a beach, they were ready to indulge in the white sand and sunshine of the Emerald Coast. Well, the weather was not the best but they assured me they still had a great time on their visit. Regardless, wedge weather and beach season are about to be undeniable (and I told them they can come back anytime for a sunny beach weekend haha). Wedges are my favorite mode of transportation in the summer time. I love that they elevate (both literally and figuratively) any warm weather outfit! I picked up this pair (color shown above is taupe) last season and they get A LOT of love. Because I realized I wear this pair so often, I am on the hunt for a few options to rotate in! Here’s what I’ve found so far: [show_shopthepost_widget id=”3093619″] I am going to pretend like the following break down is for you all, but really I just need some justification to assist me in my decision on which option/s […]

Mustard Lace Overlay Romper

Mustard Lace Overlay Romper

Mustard Lace Overlay Romper | Wallet | Blush Heels | Sunglasses Let me start this post by saying although it looks so pretty and glamorous… not photographed were the numerous groups of college students on spring break hauling their Yeti coolers to the house party just on the other side of this bridge čśé. This situation was just funny because I am so sure they were VERY confused as to why Mack was taking my photos on a random bridge. My very selfless #instagramhusband just waited patiently as they passed and you all know I was so uncomfortable. Anyways, I hope that story made you smile even just a little! So, onto this mustard lace overlay romper. This little number is currently hanging in my closet and it’s like I am looking for any excuse to wear it. I didn’t know it until we shot this dress┬áin a similar shade, but I think mustard is my color. You guys, I really love it. If you have dark brown hair, I suspect it’s your color too. If you’re not a fan of mustard (because I just checked and this shade is sold out- such is life haha), it also comes in […]

Striped High-Low Dress

Striped High Low Dress

Striped High Low Dress | Leopard Clutch | Wedges | Sunglasses Where did this week go? I am definitely not complaining because #Friday but it was so busy for me. If you felt the same way, rest assured because the weekend is here and we can unplug! I have a few trips on the horizon that I am very excited about! Most notably, I am heading to Austin in May for one of my best friend’s bachelorette party and then to San Diego in July for her wedding. The best part about weddings- aside from seeing your bestie marry her beau- is the fact that it’s the best way to get old friends together. I have been missing my college clique and can’t wait to see everyone again, more than once, over the next several months. With fun trips on my mind, I couldn’t resist this gathered high-low striped dress (stripes are huge for spring)! It’s ideal for springtime on the coast but also great for brunch on a girls trip! Furthermore, I love to mix stripes with prints often. As referenced in this post, this leopard clutch is one I really can’t live without. No matter what season or […]

Embroidered Denim Shorts

Embroidered Denim Shorts

White T-shirt (similar– you probably already have one in your closet!) | Embroidered Denim Shorts | Wedges | Bucket Bag (sold out in blush, black here) | Sunglasses Hello and happy official start to spring (a few days late)! We’ve got long days, spring breakers and pollen in the air all checked off the, “is it spring yet?” list! Although we’ve been living in spring for last few weeks here in the Florida panhandle, I am glad the rest of the country will be joining us in the sunshine here soon. One of my favorite things about spring is the fact that everything BLOOMS. In walking the dogs the other day, I truly noticed that out of nowhere our neighborhood has fully bloomed. It looks amazing with every bush, tree and flower sprouted from the ground with such pretty color! I am obsessed and quite frankly inspired walking out our front door- for that, I am so thankful. As if I needed another excuse to walk the dogs (sometimes I will take them three times a day čśé)- the fresh flowers everywhere have me working extra walks in whenever I can! Rebel and Tiger aren’t complaining. To honor my obsession […]
