Workout Wardrobe for Warm Weather

Workout Wardrobe for Warm Weather

Rose Gold Nike Tennis Shoes (similar option/s) Daylight savings time may have left us all a little sleepy (I couldn’t get up on Sunday!) but it promises that long beach days are not far from reach! With summer on the horizon, I recently did a little scan of my workout drawer and realized I only have black workout clothes. But with warmer temperatures approaching and because athleisure items are a staple in my day to day, I am looking forward to a fresh update to my workout wardrobe- incorporating more blush tones and blooms. Here are some pieces that I have in the “running” but am waiting to purchase until our budget resets next month (#reallife): With the shift to warm weather, I like to focus on outdoor activities to get my exercise on. Luckily, Mack and I both love to get moving outdoors every weekend. If you’re looking for ways to get some exercise but not feel like you’re working out, give these activities a try (especially if you live by the water or even if only visiting): Beach walk- If the weather is right, Mack and I try to go for a beach walk almost every weekend. We will […]

Dainty Must-Haves with Katie Dean Jewelry

Dainty Must Haves with Katie Dean Jewelry

Starburst Ring | Hammered Gold Ring | Initial Necklace Happy Friday! I hope you all had a great week. I am glad it’s the weekend and Mack and I have a busy one ahead. We’re excited to embrace a few days off, spend time with friends and even wrap up our taxes. Whatever you have planned, I know it’ll be great because it’s the #freakinweekend. Anyways, I wanted to touch on something I don’t usually mention here and that’s jewelry. I never talk about it because I honestly wear my wedding rings and a pair of diamond earrings that were a gift from Mack every. single. day. I TRY so hard to love a good statement necklace, stacked bracelets and even cute statement earrings. I buy them, never wear them, forgot about them, then Poshmark them. I find that I wear only what matters to me and leave the rest behind. This past Valentine’s Day I was on vacation with my Mom and away from Mack. That’s the day I stumbled upon Katie Dean Jewelry and the minute I saw that dainty “M” initial- I had to have it. While looking at the remainder of Katie’s collection, I decided to […]

Slide Sandals for Spring

Slide Sandals for Spring

Pearl Embellished Slide Sandals We’ve gone from zero to spring here in Florida and I couldn’t be more excited! This past weekend we spent most of our time outdoors from walking the dogs to taking them on a few bikes rides. Funny sidenote, Mack and I love our cruiser bikes but we hate to leave Rebel and Tiger behind (and indoors) while we go for our ride. My dad sent us two baskets to attach to our bikes and we had the best weekend including them in our bike rides. I know, I know…. we are over the top puppy parents. Rebel and Tiger might actually think they’re humans. 😂 Anyways, with warm weather here to stay, there’s so much joy in my heart as I look to spring fashion. For me, I always like to step out in an array of slides from spring to summer. I recently picked up a few pairs (all under $100) that I really like and wanted to share. If you’re already experiencing spring weather or anxiously waiting on it to arrive, here are my selections: Embellished– I can’t get enough of these pearl embellished slides as the season transitions. I haven’t worn them […]

Spring Ready on Florida’s Emerald Coast

Spring Ready on Florida's Emerald Coast

Ruffle Swimsuit | Denim Cutoff Shorts | Sunglasses | Watermelon Beach Towel | Sandals (similar) Spring is HERE! Oh my gosh, we’ve been having the best weather the past two weeks and I am ready for the beach (despite the fact that my skin is so pale 😂). Since March is officially here, I wanted to share a few ways to get spring ready on Florida’s Emerald Coast. Beach days don’t take much effort and for that, we are all thankful. Here are my tips to get beach ready this month: Opt to cruise- The beach is great but parking can sometimes pose a challenge in our area. To avoid this struggle, opt to cruise on a bike instead. It’s not only fun but convenient and truly the best way to get around. Whether you’re staying on Sandestin or further east on 30A, you’ll enjoying pedaling to the beach, happy hour and even dinner. There are numerous bike rental companies in our area which can be found through a simple Google search. I can’t personally recommend any as we utilize our own bikes however! Snag a one piece- I haven’t worn a one piece probably since I was a baby at […]

Five Bags to Stock Your Closet

Five Bags to Stock Your Closet

Patterned Clutch (almost identical, also love this one here) | Personalized Crossbody (sold out, similar) | Bucket Bag (sold out in blush, black option here) | Investment Bag | Tote Bag (newer version here) If you’ve been following along for awhile now, you may have noticed that I very rarely feature a new handbag. This is mostly due to the fact that I have a tiny closet but also because I am convinced you only need five bags to complete any outfit. For the most part, I feature and have featured one of the above five bags in each outfit post for the past three years of running this blog! So take my word for it when I say, stock your closet with these styles (or something similar that you love) and you’re good to go! Here’s the only five bags you need and why: Patterned Clutch: The perfect pop of pattern to complement any outfit on a bachelorette weekend or date night! Leopard print is always my favorite pattern. Personalized Crossbody: A must have because it’s neutral and features your initials! Need I say more? You’ll use this crossbody on the weekends, on vacation or even just for a grocery […]

Spring Sweater

Spring Sweater

Pom Pom Sweater | White Jeans (similar) | Crossbody Bag (similar) | Starburst Ring | Hammered Gold Ring | Sunglasses | Wedges (similar) | Sunglasses I am the #1 advocate for versatile pieces in your closet. This sweater is not that. BUT we all need a little spice in our lives. This coming from the girl that sat fifth row at the Spice Girls concert, bought the t-shirt and yes, even a ring that I refused to take off. So for all of us that lived and breathed everything Spice Girls, think of this sweater as the spice in your life just in time for spring. You may be thinking, “a sweater for spring?” I say yes! The transition to spring isn’t always a defined route. Temperature jumps and chilly nights call for that extra knit. Although, I am convinced that Puxatony Phil was incorrect this time as spring has made an early arrival in the Florida panhandle (not complaining, just an observation). I love pairing spring sweaters with white jeans for now then jean shorts later. Plus, this pom pom version just triggers that spring spirit in all of us as winter subsides and warm temperatures return. I secretly […]

Athleisure with Planted True

Athleisure with Planted True

Baseball Hat | Black Zip Up (similar) | White T-shirt (similar) | Planted True Joggers | Tennis Shoes (similar) | Coffee Mug Happy Wednesday! Holiday weekends always throw me off (especially when the weather is perfect). Give me all the bike rides and beach walks for three days straight and I am one happy camper. But I am also behind haha. I think we can all relate to playing catch up after a week out of town and a holiday weekend! But I am back on track over here and in case you missed it, I highlighted Karen Hatcher of Planted True on Friday in this post. Her family business is very inspiring and I always get so excited to share the stories of fellow business owners in my community. If you haven’t already, be sure to read the post! Anyways, these adorable joggers are from the Planted True lifestyle brand and they’re so comfortable. I rock athleisure outfits more than I am willing to admit. If it’s the weekend, I am in an outfit like this until it’s time to change for date night. I just have a hard time getting dressed up during a normal day where we […]

Let’s Get Local: Planted True

Let's Get Local: Planted True

“She stands tall.” When a twenty-something hears those words, they resonate. I have to believe that when any woman hears those words, regardless of age, they still resonate. These words along with a specific set of core values are what sparked Planted True (launching at 9am CST for my early readers!), a boutique and lifestyle brand curated by Karen Hatcher in Panama City, FL. A family business that made the transition from brick and mortar to solely online remains focused on their mission of creating a comfortable space for women to shop and find clothes that promote confidence. When I first came across the Planted True Instagram, it was the visually pleasing feed that caught my eye. But after months of following their content, I realized they were so much more than a boutique offering a mix of highly sought after brands in conjunction with their own lifestyle brand, rather I discovered Planted True is a movement through a team focused on uplifting one another and their community. This is so evident in their deep family roots upon which this brand is built. I had the opportunity to sit down with Karen to discuss the future of Planted True and learn […]

Pom Pom Vest + Photography Tips

Faux Fur Pom Pom Vest

Pom Pom Vest | Black Dress | Blush Bucket Bag | Sunglasses (similar) | Leopard Booties Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope everyone has a day filled with love. I am in Las Vegas with my Mom but going home to my Valentine tomorrow morning and can’t wait. Speaking of Mack, I receive so many questions about who takes my blog photos. The secret’s out- it’s my sweet and selfless hubby! Let me preface this post by saying I started this entire blog by taking photos on an iPad- yes, you read that right. First with my Dad and then with Mack when we moved. Let’s just say we’ve come a LONG way since then. But as two self-taught, amateur photographers- I have to say I am pretty proud of us! With that in mind, I wanted to share our tips to capturing blog-worthy imagery: Scout Locations- In most cases, the location makes the photos. We try to keep it fairly consistent but we switch from a number of local spots ranging from neighborhoods to community hubs and hotel exteriors. However, we always shoot outdoors. Natural light is the best light! We are blessed to live in a tourist centralized location […]

Black Wrap Dress with Planted True

Black Wrap Dress

Black Wrap Dress (Planted True, more details soon!) | Kitty Straw Clutch (sold out) | Leopard Boots (under $30!) The constant search for the perfect LBD is one that never ceases for me. I ALWAYS find a reason to add another black dress to my closet mostly because they transcend season, event and time really. I recently snagged this little black wrap dress from Planted True, a local store, that I can’t seem to get enough of. I have some exciting new content coming soon in partnership with them so stay tuned! In the meantime, feel free to stalk their Instagram and fall in love. With spring literally just around the corner (but not quite here yet), I plan to mix my favorite winter accessories with spring focused items such as this adorable kitty straw clutch, until the weather truly transitions. I shared a few weeks ago about this blanket scarf and how I plan to carry it with me as we welcome spring. Take an inventory of your closet and evaluate if any key items can be used in multiple ways. Don’t judge me, but you’ll probably see me wearing these booties with jean shorts and my favorite tee […]
