You know how when you see something that’s on such a good sale you MUST buy it? Well that’s what happened to me with this skirt. However, I bought it and then couldn’t figure out how to style it or where to wear it. Alas, its been cooped up in the back of my closet for a year. When I met with Style by Kimberly she asked me, “what’s something you want to wear but don’t?” Without hesitation I pulled out this leather midi skirt. She suggested I pull a relaxed look together by pairing with a printed tee and fun shoes. Fast forward a month and I found these Graceful Rebel tanks on Instagram and HAD to have not one, but two haha. I took to the advice I received from Kim and put this look together… I think it’s one of my all time favorite looks on Little Mrs. Particular! I think I like it so much because it’s a healthy mix of casual yet chic.
Sometimes I struggle with the perception of when it’s okay to wear a certain clothing item. I always joke that at Ole Miss, there was no in-between in style. Basically, I was in a t-shirt and running shorts for class or I was done up in a dress and heels ready for a night on the square. Maybe it’s just me but I didn’t have any of those crucial in-between clothing items haha. Then we move to Florida which is arguably the most laid back clothing culture ever! It understand it’s because most people are merely visiting and want nothing but to relax and go to the beach, I get it! But I’ve found myself feeling that I don’t want to be too dressed up. However, I realized that this feeling is a silly waste of time. Clothing is an expression of who we are and I love the quote about personal style serving as an unspoken first impression. It’s so true! Anyways, I just wanted to share some inspiration for you this Friday about stepping out in what makes you feel confident. Now if you work in a very traditional office setting, maybe save those super fun outfits for the weekend but I think you all know what I mean with this! Adhere to dress codes but always add a touch of something that makes you feel like you.
Fun side note, I am going to feature Cameron, the creator of Graceful Rebel, next month in my Let’s Get Local series. These tanks are made in the USA and designed on 30A. I love what her company stands for and the encouragement they provide in our community. Stay tuned for that because we’re also going to giveaway a tank to a reader!
Thank you so much for reading today! I hope you have a great weekend.
