I always gravitate toward classic pieces but one trend that I’ve been dying to try is that of pearl embellished clothing. I searched and searched for the best way to incorporate this into my wardrobe without much luck. Then, while pursuing the racks at the Fashion Flash Sale, I scored this adorable pearl embellished skirt- which just happened to be in my size- indicating it was a must-have! Although Christmas Day doesn’t always call for trendy attire per say, the pearl embellished skirt is an exception in my book. Here are a few additional tips for what to wear on Christmas Day:
- Mix and Match Classic Pieces- Lace, wool, pearls and the color blush will forever be in style. Why not mix them all together in one look? The different materials, neutral colors and pop of color make this dressy enough for the special occasion while sill feeling homey. If your family is like ours, we gather at either our home or my Aunt’s on Christmas Day.
- Keep it Conservative- From church service to Christmas dinner, err on the side of conservative. More likely than not, you will be surrounded by elders, co-workers of your parents and family friends. Dress respectfully as it is a special occasion!
- Dash of You– Don’t let the classic and conservative look rob you of your personal style! Instead add an extra layer through your favorite faux fur vest, a pop of color purse, leopard booties or however you make an outfit yours.
The holidays are such a fun time to dress up! Everything is more “dressed up” this time of year if you think about it- from trees to lamp posts- everything is in the Christmas spirit through lights and decoration. Reflect that same spirit as you celebrate our Savior’s birth!
