#lmrsp Turns Two + 2017 Aspirations

It was officially two years ago this week that I decided to start my blog! It has been so much fun and I will never get over how much I love creating in this space. Curating posts on a weekly basis for the mini-community we’ve created here has been such a rewarding experience. I truly understand why people say, “you don’t work a day in your life if you love what you do.” I will gladly hop out of my bed on a Sunday at 5am to go take blog photos… I can’t think of anything else that would get me out of the bed that early and eager to accomplish something! I am thankful for that, for those of you that have continued to read my posts for the past two years and for those of you recently joining me here. I am so grateful for each and every person that has ever supported my blog.

Rather than reminisce too much about 2016, I just want to quickly highlight the overall best feeling associated with the year for me. If I had to sum up 2016 in one word it would be, home. Mack and I move a lot and it’s safe to say that as we celebrated our one year wedding anniversary, purchased our first home and continue to build this life together, I know that when I am with Mack, I will always be home. This life we have together is my home. And I don’t know how I ever got so lucky.

I am looking forward to the year ahead and excited about what’s to come (even if I have no idea what that actually is haha). Because you all know I love lists, I want to share a list of what I want to strive for in 2017:

  • A growing relationship with the Lord: I mentioned the First 5 app in this post on Monday and that has been the single most helpful step of growth in my faith. Consistent, daily quiet time spent reading and learning from what the Bible teaches. I will continue with my daily devotionals, attend church and I hope to find a local small group to join this year as well!
  • Lead a healthy lifestyle: I want to workout with Mack more this year. It’s one of his favorite things to do and I recently read that making exercise an actual part of your life is a MUST (aka not just working on your summer bod). So far, I’ve been lucky enough to rely on my good genes for the past 26 years but I feel like that luck is about to run out real quick. Therefore, I am committed to making this “lifestyle change” (as Mack calls it) this year.
  • Travel more: This is easier said than done, for sure. Mack and I have talked about trips we want to take endlessly but for whatever reason we don’t get around to actually plan these trips. We love to go see our families, which we do without hesitation when we can but I want to travel to new places in 2017. At the top of my list? Fairhope, AL; Nashville, TN; Asheville, NC and Baton Rouge, LA (I’ve never been to Tiger Stadium and Mack is the #1 LSU fan for real)! These are all within driving distance so I figure we can start small, right? Our budget says YES haha.
  • Continued growth through #lmrsp: I’ve heard all my life about how measurable goals are the only goals. When it comes to my blog however I am going to try and worry less about the measurables (I know, I am a total “millennial” haha). My blog has taught me SO MUCH! And that is more valuable to me than anything. It’s the best feeling to share what I love and learn while I do it. Over Christmas, Mack gifted me with a new camera so this year I am focusing most on learning a new trade while staying consistent because to me, that’s key!

Two years ago, I created this space because I loved planning our wedding. I never knew what it would evolve into but I sure glad I simply started.

Thank you so much for reading today, as always. I hope you have a great weekend!
